The
Center for Cultural Exchange presents:
"FIESTA LATINA!"
a night of "Music
for dancing" by the Puerto Rican
ensemble: "Balaton"
on Friday, December
10 at 8:00 pm,
at the Center for Cultural Exchange, 1 Longfellow Square in Portland.
Tickets are $12.00 at the door and will
be worth every stinkin' penny, I'm sure.
For those who are automobile-dependent, you'll be able to park across the
street
for three bucks.
- For those coming to
Portland for the Dia de la Raza celebration
on October 16,
take
the Congress Street exit off of 295. Follow Congress off of the
ramp for exactly one mile (you will pass the Greyhound station
and the BIG, UGLY Maine Med parking structure, both on your
right). At the end of a mile, turn right at the Irving station
(also on your right). This is Walker Street. Go one block to the
"T" with Brackett Street (not marked) and turn left.
You will see a Cumberland Farms (on your right). Stop at the stop
sign (on your right), then cross Pine Street. Almost immediately,
you will see the Reiche ("RYE-key") School which is,
you guessed it, on your right.
Park where you can and enter the
school on the ground level for food, friends and the fantastic
Festival Latino.
If you've never been
before, this can be your first of many annual Dias de la Raza.
Bring family and friends for a guaranteed good time!
This event is sponsored by the Latino Community
Council.
Our thanks to Olaf Bleck of salsaboston.com and Rio of salsaweb.com for
supporting our growing salsa scene in southern Maine.
Sabor!
