Who Is Paco

So... a few details about my self

I was born in 1970 in Israel in a city next to Tel Aviv (Rishon le Zion) where I grow up and lived ever since.
I found my way in to the amazing world of salsa in 1988 through an Argentinean friend,
(who by the way later on gave me the nick Paco).

I have always loved music and dancing but I could never imagine what salsa would do to me and how it would change my life.

I probably do not have to explain to any of you what salsa can do, and how it effects from within, but from the second I heard the music and saw the dance I was hooked and since than and probably for many years to come salsa is my way of life, and it is not just music and dance it is "A way of life".

In 1993 I took my first professional steep in the salsa world and traveled to Madrid Spain to find better salsa than what there was in Israel.
Since than my love for this way of life grown and become stronger.
I came back and tried my luck on the Israeli annual salsa contest. Amazingly I won first place and from that day I had my life build around salsa nights.

Because salsa was not as popular in Israel at those years, getting salsa music in Israel was an impossible mission so I brought with me from Spain a small collection Of salsa music and after a short while I started working as a hobby in clubs as salsa d.j and instructor.

Ever since I have worked in a number of salsa clubs in Israel and now in club Maxim on Fridays, Latino bar on Saturdays
Club Focus on Sundays & Tuesdays and every second Thursday at "Bicoray Etim".

Since 1993 I was lucky enough to have many opportunity to visit many places all over the world. Obviously the first thing I did when visiting a new country was To look and observe the salsa clubs in that country and so I can say I have a good view on the world of salsa.

On a daily basis I work as Assistant Director General of Eshnav Web Services.
(you can check my company site on this URL:
http://www.eshnav.co.il and learn more about what I do when I am not "salsaing").

In the last 2 years I have been operating as salsaweb Cityguide administrator in charge of all Cityguide updates as well as the Israeli correspondent.
The combination of my love to the dance, music and all the stuff associated with salsa, and the ability to sure the knowledge with other salsa lovers all over the world has been and still is a fulfilling task.

I would be more than happy to assist you with any information on salsa in Israel, and if you plan a trip to our lovely country please e-mail me and I would love to help you finding your way in Israeli salsa. My e-mail is:

My home phone # is :(972) - 3 - 9666365

So have fun and I will sign off with a short story on a phrase I was once told on my first visit to Madrid Spain.

I was with a new friend I made over their, Johnny. (The best salsa D.J. in Madrid) Johnny asked my "how come when ever he is playing marenge I am usually not dancing? I told him "my dance is salsa, I love all the other Latin rhythms but salsa really dos it for me". He then told me the phrase "if you love Latin music and know how to dance to all of the different rhythms but you prefer to dance to the salsa you know and you are the true meaning of Salsero"

So as the true Salsero I am I say to you all continue to live the salsa way.

Salsero for ever
