LATIN CLUBS

ORLANDO, FLORIDA

CLUB ADDRESSES AND INFORMATION

Acuario Night Club - Located in Brevard County (east of Orlando).  Take 95 to exit 70A which is Palm Bay Road, go east (left) for about 5-7 miles to US1 and make a right (south) for about 1-1/2 miles.  The club is located at 4600 NE Dixie Hwy.   Unit 21 Palm Bay, FL  Ph: (321) 728-3200.

Bambu - Located inside the Howard Johnson on Orange Blossom Trail (also know as OBT or Hwy 17-92, or 441). Take I4, exit Sand Lake Rd and head East, make a right on OBT (17-92/441). Look for Howard Johnson on the right hand side.

Bongos - a Latin restaurant with Cuban style food and a nightly show with a guy who imitates Ricky Ricardo and an open area where you can dance.  This is not a salsa club, per se, but it is a good place to go for dinner with a nice atmosphere and you can dance a little as well.  Wednesday through Sunday from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.  The restaurant stops serving food at midnight.  Phone 407-828-0999.  Located in Downtown Disney.  Take 14 towards the Disney compound and follow the signs towards Downtown Disney (it's next to the House of Blues).  On occasion, Latin Beat Dance Studios from Ft. Lauderdale will give special shows & Salsa Classes.

Caribbean Beach Club- Located on Colonial Dr. (Hwy 50) approx 6 miles west of I4 on the right hand side, next to the Best Western. 4919 W. Colonial Dr. Phone: 407-299-0706. Main floor merengue/salsa/etc. all night.  A real Latin experience No house in main room.  House/reggae in room 2.  Many good dancers (18-55 yrs). But the crowd is more estilo "caseta popular".  This place is good on {SATURDAYS.}

Club Copa - located on 5454 International Dr., East of the intersection of Kirkman Rd and International Dr. This club is located inside the I-Drive Shopping Center across from Burger King. It is difficult to see the club from the road, use BK as your reference point. Ph (407) 351-4866; Hot line: (407) 282-2308.

El Palladium International- 7430 Universal Blvd. Orlando, Fla. 32819. Right behind Wet’n Wild in International Dr. Ph: 407-248-0098. More info: http://www.palladiuminternational.com/toppage1.htm

Firestone Club "Caliente"- {FRIDAYS}  Located 1-1/2 blocks south of Colonial Dr., on Orange Ave., Downtown Orlando. Somewhat upscale, relatively young crowd.  3 floors total, some good dancers. Take the Colonial Dr. (Hwy. 50) exit from 14 and go east until you get to Orange Avenue, then go South (right) and go down about 1-1/2 blocks.  Club is on right-hand side.  Ask about the after-hours club.

4th Fighter Squadron-Take I4 and exit Hwy 50 (or Colonial Dr.) and head east to Rigenbaucker St. (Bennigan’s on that corner). Make a right and follow the road all the way inside the Executive Airport.

HOB - {TUESDAYS}  - Downtown Disney, Westside.  $5 cover, DJ. Free parking.  Just starting out so it isn't that crowded, but if it keeps up it should bring a good crowd within a few months.  Check to see if it's still on and that no special events have pre-empted it (private parties, etc.)

Latin Quarter – Located in Universal City Walk; 6000 Universal Blvd. Suite 709 Orlando, FL 32819. Take I4 towards Universal Studios and follow the signs to City Walk. Excellent atmosphere, great decorations; live entertainment every night with dance show, classes, and then dancing with live band. This place is also a restaurant with excellent Latin cuisine. Perfect place for an evening of dining and dancing with great atmosphere. Ph.: 407-363-5922 or 1-888-74-LATIN (888-745-2846).  http://www.thelatinquarter.com.
This place gets hot on {THURSDAYS} If you plan to go to Universal City Walk on a Thursday you can go to Latin Quarter without making a special trip.  Thursday is the night that dancers go, but you may want to bring a partner anyway.  The reason may be that this is a tourist destination and attracts a certain amount of "gazers".  There are decent dancers there too. Free parking after 6.  Live music; band plays a mix.  You can wait a LOOOOOOONNNNNG time for even one salsa song whether band or DJ, they play a lot of Latin house.  Dance floor gets packed.

Neonz Club Latino - Located in Brevard County (east of Orlando) at 2135 Palm Bay Road #1, NE, Palm Bay, FL. Right across the street from the Fire Department. Ph: (407) 956-7433.

Roxy - {WEDNESDAYS} 740 Bennet Road, located ¼ of a mile east of the Fashion Square Mall at the intersection of Hwy 50 (Colonial Dr.) and Bennet. Highly recommended. Ph: (407) 898-4004. DJ Pauly.  3 separate floors.  Old school and romantic salsa exclusively all night in the front room with a small floor. stable lighting (no effects) and an older crowd (25-60). On the big floor standard merengue/salsa/etc. mix with huge floor, 3 bars and VIP area.  20-40 yrs. here.  Upstairs metal topped bars and Latin house, etc. Overlooks main room.  (18-28 yrs).  Excellent dancing in two lower rooms. Free valet parking or $5 VIP valet.

Southern Nights - {MONDAYS} Off the 408 at Bumby, SE of Downtown.  A gay club 7 days a week and Mondays is no exception, but it is Latin night and some dancers brave it (straight people go too). Gets crowded.  There is a show about 12:30 or so and then house music, but really good salsa up until then.  Parking $5, $1 or free.
