The Lebron Brothers performance at El Carnaval 4/13/02 in Greenville SC
was very good.
There was a big turn out and the L. Bros. did not disappoint the large crowd
of
Latinos , the majority of which were mostly Colombianos, I was very impressed
with their
knowledge of the Lebron Bros. music. Click

Park at
the Columbia SC Music Festival 4/20/02
It was a very hot, sunny and
muggy day but that did not stop the Salseros & Salseras from coming
out and enjoying some good music at the Riverfront park. DJ Estrella was out
there as co MC and did very good job on stage. I arrived when the group La
Firma started to play, they did a very good job with their uptempo merengue
and dance show to the enjoyment of the crowd. When it was Lalo's turn he took
over and started with some of his old song's like "Las Mujeres",
"Nada de ti", "Ven Devorame otra vez" and a few others.
Why he would play a medley of boleros (under the hot sun) and wear a long
sleeve shirt was a mystery to me, regardless it was a very good show and I
enjoyed it just as much as everyone out there. Thanks to all the
performers,promoters and everyone else who made this event possible. s328

This
was the first time I had pleasure of listening to this Latin Jazz
group and I think they performed very well. They specialize in Latin
Jazz, playing lots of Poncho Sanchez type of music,they also crossed
over to Salsa and played "La Murga" and it turned out to
be a pretty good dance song. I feel they need to play more of this
style of music in order to attract more of the Salsa dance crowd.
There is not much live Salsa in the Columbia area and it is good to
listen some live Salsa every once in a while. Thanks goes out to DJ
Estrella for putting it all together. As usual the Latino crowd is
always slow in supporting events like this, so next time around come
on out and show your support for these events , I know it was on a
monday night but it started early and ended right after midnight.

Impacto Latino will perform downtown at Finley just wanted to place a little update info on the Latin Dance activities
going on in this area (finally, thanks Salsa.Web), just recently on Oct.19
2001 there was a "Helping the Kids" fundraiser benefit concert
at the Salsa Cabana, over
$2,400 was raised, with the proceeds going to the children who lost
parents in the 9/11/2001 tragedy, performing that night was Orq.
Kaliente & Sabor
Latin Jazz Project Group. A big Thank you goes out to
all the performers and everyone who came out and supported this well
deserved cause. On Oct. 13 2001 El Cano Estremeda performed on Ft. Jackson
SC along with other invited entertainers and it was a great show. On
Nov.16 2001 the Impacto Latino Band is schedule to perform on Ft.Jackson SC. I
previously heard them play and they have a very good selection of !SALSA!

Although
I missed their performance at Finley Park, which they performed in front of more
than 6,000 people, I was taken by surprise that night when I went to the Salsa
Cabana and arrived as they were setting up to perform again. I really enjoyed
their performance, they played some different music including some favorites
from Gilberto Santa Rosa and Tito Rojas. The club was full to capacity and there
was a waiting line to get in. I was so glad that I made it in that night because
there were many of my favorite Salseras present that night and I got to do lots
dancing. It was a great show, a big Thank You to Impacto Latino, Jane,Gabe and
the rest of the Salsa Cabana Crew. s328
