Letter from La Costa:
Dear Anna,
I am sending this e-mail to personally
thank you for all your support, dedication and enthusiasm you
have shown over the last several months in your attempts to
increase Costas attendance on Sunday evenings. This has been an
economically challenging year for many businesses and due to tight budgets
it sometimes becomes difficult to advertise and promote events as they
should be.
We also understand the strain that a difficult economy can bring on
households when parents are fighting to make ends meet and the demands of
raising children and higher education increase.
I am pleased that the
Marriott and Costas cater to our Latin community and we sincerely hope to
continue this throughout the year with
this and many other events. It is always easiest to justify events
when sales exceed costs and we sincerely
hope that this will transpire in the upcoming months. There are
many options to decrease costs but ultimately my guests and yours would
suffer the inconvenience. The
major expense as in most clubs is always the entertainment both in costs,
room stay and liability but in keeping with Costas
traditions and to ensure we
always offer our guests a true value I
could not consider promoting
any Latin event without live,
quality entertainment.
We appreciate
the fact that you are promoting this event and offering Salsa
instructions of your own free will
and we can only hope that our loyal residents of the Valley also
appreciate your dedication. I understand your concerns that we will
eventually cancel this event due to poor attendance
but all we hope for at this time is that our guests continue
to pass the word along to relatives and
friends to join us on Sunday evenings. You are correct when you
stated that there are not many quality
clubs that offer a clean,
safe club in a beautiful and elegant environment such as ours. I
have worked directly with the Latin community now for the past 7 years,
2 with Y Arriba Y Arriba in downtown Disney and 5 years with Bongos Cuban
cafe owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan both in Miami and Orlando. I have
faith in my local valley residents and our hope
is that they will continue to support venues and events that highlight
their heritage and culture, sending a clear and sound message to the
remainder of the valley that the Latin community is alive and strong.
Costas is known for it's great diversity catering to all races and age
demographics, I know of no better way to assemble everyone then to place
them in one room with live music playing Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia and Cha-Cha's.
I ask that you pass this
message onto your fellow dancers so that they also can accept my
appreciation in our attempt to support the local Latin community.
We hope to see all our
supporters on Sunday evening,
Thank you once again Anna,
Sincerely,
Brian Alan Marandola
